At the keyboard
You hunt for words. Then the tone.
Say what’s on your mind, the way it comes. nowbie writes it for you: a polished email, a message to someone close, a clean list. In the right tone, without changing what you mean.

Example: one dictation, “um tell Samir the demo, uh, the demo is moved to Thursday because the client is sick”, written by each persona:
A persona is a way of writing. Pick it with a double press on fn, and it writes under your cursor, in the app you have open.
It finds the words, never the facts: nothing added to what you said.
Personas for every day, and others cut for your job.
Double-tap fn to switch personas.
For everyone
By role
Describe it the way you’d tell a colleague. nowbie writes its instructions, you try it before saving, and you can edit them anytime.
Example: you type “Replies to the customers of my bakery, polite and friendly”. nowbie creates the “Bakery Customer Assistant” persona and writes its instructions. Tried on “um tell her that her order for Saturday is ready, well the cake, and that she can pick it up from 10 am”, it writes: “Hello, Your cake order for Saturday is ready! You can come and pick it up anytime from 10:00 AM. Have a wonderful day.”
Click into a text field and keep your finger on fn. nowbie listens for as long as the key is down.
Hesitate, correct yourself, change your mind halfway. The “um”s and false starts go; your meaning stays.
Your persona rewrites the dictation and drops it at your cursor. Read it, send it.
At the keyboard you hunt for words, then for the right tone for each reader. Out loud you just say the idea: your persona turns it into a message, an email or a clear instruction, without making anything up.
You hunt for words. Then the tone.
Say the idea. The tone follows.
Names, brands, jargon: add them once and nowbie spells them right.
Say “Hey Nowbie”, then dictate. No need to touch the keyboard.
fn always dictates with the active persona. A double tap moves to the next one, hands on the keyboard.
nowbie never pastes into a different window than the one you started in, and never into a password field.
nowbie keeps no dictations on its servers; your history stays on your Mac. For rewriting, your dictation is sent to Google’s Gemini AI, which never uses it to train or improve its models, and keeps it only for the limited time needed to prevent abuse.

And it does its job well: transcribing. nowbie does something else: it rewrites your dictation as you speak, with the persona you picked, and drops it at your cursor. You say your idea in a mess, you get a clean email or a message that sounds like you. If a raw transcript is enough, keep Apple.

You pick who writes, or create your own in one sentence, and it finds the words without touching the facts. One tip if you try both: quit Wispr Flow while you try nowbie, otherwise both apps listen to fn at once. nowbie warns you at install.
